Pentwater Police Department has partnered with the Pentwater Downtown Development Authority (DDA) to promote the use of bicycles in the Village. Visitors to the Village can take advantage of the new "Bike Share Program".
Pentwater Police Department by resolution of the Village Council made available several bikes which had been recovered and unclaimed. The DDA has fixed the bikes and marked them as part of the program. The bikes can be used by anyone visiting the Village. All that is asked is that they be returned to one of the Bike Share racks located at either the Pentwater Village Marina or Channel Lane Park. There is no cost for using this program. Bikes and bike helmets can be found at either location.
In addition to the Bike Share Program a new "Cycle Aid Station" is being installed near the public restrooms at 326 S Hancock Street. There is an air hose available 24 hours a day to fill tires.
The Police Department is reminding all cyclists that they need to follow the rules of the road at all times, stay off the sidewalks, and always remember to wear a helmet.
